Web 101 And More Through Video Tutorials

by Russell M. Stewart

Have you tried to create a website, search engine optimise it and then market the new website, all single handedly? You most probably haven’t. The reason why most people can’t do it themselves is the simplest reason - they don’t know how to. Even if a friend, colleague or course tutor has taught it all before, sometimes it’s just hard to grasp everything right at once.

Learning something new isn’t always easy. That’s why when someone simply instructs, it’s hard to absorb everything into your brain.

It’s a well-known fact that if you advice someone, that person is likely to forget what you said after a while. But, if you show them by example, it’ll linger on their memory for much longer and they are more likely to follow your example too.

Now, there are easier ways to learn than to try and memorise everything that’s taught to you. If the World Wide Web interests you, one great way to learn web basics and more advanced techniques is to watch a video on how it’s all done. These are available for online purchase and will cost you less than $20. What’s so exclusive about them? Everything.

You can learn everything from building a website to adding audio and video files to your site. Search engine optimisation becomes a breeze once someone shows you how to do it. There are even videos that will teach you how to become an internet marketer and earn a living. You will learn everything you need to know to understand and take advantage of the World Wide Web.

These video tutorials are beneficial because they provide hands-on experience in a neatly bundled package for learning web techniques. The many years spent on mastering the techniques are presented for you to learn instantly and anyone interested can buy these videos easily on the internet.

Usually, these web video tutorials contain 200 to 250 videos, each containing step by step instructions through practical example, so you’ll never need to read another tutorial again. Watching such a video once is enough to learn what it teaches, but if you need to, you can always watch it again and again. Unlike reading copious paragraphs on how to do something, it’s more logical to learn by watching how to do it.

Learning the web on video is an easy task, which wouldn’t take consecutive hours of sitting in one place. These videos contain practical knowledge on subject areas such as creating minisites quickly, search engine optimisation, integrating affiliate marketing, web design tricks, automatically updating your site, increasing your advertising revenue, linking tips and even on how to spy on your competition without being detected.

Finding the Best Personal Injury Lawyer After a Car Accident

by Judd Macaluso

As unpredictable as life can be at times there may be a day when you find yourself involved in an automobile accident. If you are ever in a car accident, and especially if somebody was injured, it would be in your best interest to contact a personal injury lawyer within your business district.

When considering personal injury lawyers as an option after a car accident, there a few things you should know.

The first factor to keep in mind when it comes to considering personal injury lawyers to assist you with a car accident case is experience. In short, any lawyer that you select absolutely must have the experience necessary to ensure that you are able to obtain the best representation possible in regard to your legal needs.

Not only is experience important but also the lawyer must be specialized within the field of personal injury law practices. No longer do we employ a ‘general practitioner’ for all of our legal needs. That is why choosing a lawyer relating specifically to your needs is a must.

Utilize the Internet as a resource to locate a personal injury lawyer. It has unlimited sources for you to choose and it’s a good starting point.

Therefore, use the independent directories located on the Internet. These sites will aid you in identifying those lawyers that are practicing as a personal injury lawyer and what services they offer. On some of these sites, you may also see reviews by former clients of the lawyers.

In addition to using the Internet in your search for personal injury lawyers that specialize in auto accident cases, you will also want to contact the local Bar Association. While the Bar Association will not be able to recommend a specific lawyer to you, the Bar Association will be able to provide you with a list of personal injury lawyers that do practice in the area of law that can be helpful to you when it comes to a car accident case.

A consultation with one or two of the lawyers on your list is one of the final steps before you choose a personal injury lawyer. You can tell a lot about a lawyer by meeting them in person. Their level of professionalism, how the office is run, their support staff and most importantly the actual interview you have with them. Make a list of questions for the meeting and then be sure to take notes too of their responses.

Self-Directed IRA LLC - Self Directed IRA: Flipping Fixer-Uppers

by Self Directed IRA Advisor

Self Directed IRA account holders enjoy the freedom of investing in real estate, without the hassles of having someone sign off on every expenditure. This is particularly important for those who choose to flip fixer-upper properties as an investment strategy.

Self-Directed IRA LLC - Self Directed IRA: 3 Tips for Maximizing Profits When Flipping Fixer Uppers

For those who are patient, flipping fixer-uppers can provide a phenomenal return on for a Self Directed IRA portfolio. Careful research is required to make sound decisions when flipping properties, but, that is the case with any investment. If flipping properties is how you choose to maximize your retirement income via your Self Directed IRA account, keep the following in mind.

Location is Key: This is the golden rule when buying real estate. And, it is particularly true when you are buying solely as an investment. This is easy to digest when you consider that it’s easy to fix what’s wrong with a property. But, you can’t change the dynamics of a location with a can of paint.

Another rule of thumb when flipper fixer uppers: Keep the needs, wants and desires of the buyer in mind. Look in neighborhoods where property values are on a steady climb, where buyers want to purchase because the schools are good, where city government is active and present, etc

Property Renovations: Buy properties that need cosmetic renovations only where possible. Many investors, especially novice investors, walk away from perfectly sound deals because they don’t have the foresight to see past the junk. Develop this skill, and you’ll be well on your way to a lifetime of “good real estate flipping deals,” growing your Self Directed IRA profits exponentially.

Get to Know a Rehab Specialist: A rehab specialist will be able to tell you whether or not the property you’re thinking of buying is a good deal or not. For, they don’t consider how “pretty” a property is, but assess its bones. They look at those things that can cost you dearly, eg, the electrical wiring, the plumbing, the insulation, etc. Cosmetic fixes are easy and relatively cheap to fix. Maximizing your Self Directed IRA investment depends on the knowledge of someone who knows the difference.

Jack Nicklaus And Me: A Lot Of Balls

by Russell R. Collins

In my wilder moments I sometimes tell people that I play golf. They may well conjure up images in their heads of Jack Nicklaus and myself laughing together over the round we just played, but the truth is that actually you’ll probably find me crying in a patch of overgrown wilderness with my club wrapped firmly round a sycamore and a score card that looks more like a selection of lottery numbers. Jack Nicklaus, on the other hand, who has never heard of me, is the renowned world champion golfer, and is quite good at it. I bet he’s never had an encounter with a sycamore and a patch of thistles.

When he’s not hitting birdies and eagles, Jack tends to also excel at designing golf courses, and he’s created quite a few. I just read somewhere that he has recently designed nine full courses for Polaris World. They’re all laid out nearby each other so that the lucky residents get to play through 162 holes. The article didn’t say how many sycamores there are on the course, but I’m pretty sure I’d fine most of them pretty quickly. Still, at least the lakes would be pretty to look at while wondering whether to risk diving in to find my ball. There is certainly something to be said for a lifestyle which involves living in luxurious Spanish properties, constantly bathed in sunshine, with enough golf to last a lifetime.

I have some neighbours that live near me, as neighbours tend to do, and they seem to live in Spain more than they do here. I can understand that - they always seem to come back happy and tanned, and it makes me wonder why I don’t do the same thing. When I look out of my window at rows of other houses all soaked with cold rain and bathed in grey gloom the idea of moving to a sunny resort like Spain does have its appeal, but then, it always seems to be other people that actually get on and do these sorts of things. For me though, what really caught my attention was the fact that some companies, like Polaris World that advertise on television, have made golf the real focal point.

I was trying to play a game of golf at my local course recently, and it wasn’t easy. We’d had a lot of rain lately - which isn’t surprising, it’s what we’re known for here. The problem was that the whole course was so waterlogged that I was seriously considering trading in my golf cart for a dinghy. Rowing across to the eighth whilst waving a cheery greeting to some poor soul who’s stranded on the edge of a bunker and looks very much as though he’s Man Friday is not the traditional or preferred style of playing golf. If I liked getting wet I’d have taken up swimming and if I enjoyed getting muddy I’d have taken up rugby.

So that’s what made me think that moving to Spain sounds like a great idea. Imagine it - nine golf courses, endless sun, beautiful views, guaranteed good weather. Sounds like a dream. Maybe those neighbours of mine have got the right idea. But then there’s the hassle of moving over there and it all is so difficult, I wonder whether it’s worthwhile. But amazingly, I recently found out that many of these companies that deal with overseas property actually offer free trips over there to have a look and see what it would be like. They’ll even throw in a round of golf while you’re there. A free trip to Spain? A round of golf on a Jack Nicklaus course - it’s all sounding very tempting. I may even start to consider what I’d look like with a tan and a smile.

Do you know what your house is worth? I had mine valued recently, and paid little attention to it. Then I saw one of those television adverts for overseas property with golf courses and sun, and couldn’t believe that the cheapest houses there were half the cost of my home, and for the price my house is worth I could get a grand villa! Imagine that - a grand villa in Spain with all that sun, a private balcony overlooking the mountains on one side and the blue ocean on the other, and 162 holes just crying out for me to try to sink a small white ball into them. And even more bunkers starting to get excited at the prospect of more company.

I know that the idea of moving there sounds too much like hassle, but then I keep looking out of my window at the gloom and grey, and think about how I get up in the morning. You know, I don’t even bother to open the curtains sometimes. There’s nothing much to look at except grey skies, gloomy faces and the rain dripping off the gutters onto the muddy patch that I laughably refer to as my garden. But I have an image in my head of how I would feel waking up in my own villa in Spain. From one window I would be able to look across at the ponderous mountains as they yawn their way towards the purple haze of the horizon, and in the other direction I would watch the yachts skip across the cheerful blue ocean. Apparently the sea is blue over there - imagine that, clear blue water on your doorstep that doesn’t mean you’ve been flooded.

That free trip to try things out is very tempting, and I suppose I have nothing to lose. If all else fails, I’ll get a free trip to Spain, and a good game of golf. Well, as good as my game of golf is ever likely to get. My only handicap is myself. The adverts and brochures all used to see aimed at people who were retiring to Spain, or had bags of spare cash to invest, but today companies like Polaris World seem to be aiming more at people like me as well. Ordinary people who want something more than just damp, cold gloom. I like the idea of getting up in the morning and looking forward to a game of golf, rather than wondering if the weather will be good enough to let me make a dash to the car. The adverts certainly make the whole process sound easy. You never know, I might even bump into Jack as he designs his tenth course there. Maybe he’ll give me a few tips. Maybe I’ll give him some too. Maybe.

How To Turn The Search Engines Into Find Engines

by Russell R. Collins

Designing and building a website can be a thankless task. You spend hours of your time planning, designing and creating the whole site, carefully assembling it into a work of digital art. Having lovingly pored over every word and put heart and soul into a decent navigation system and a well thought out layout, you eagerly publish your site and hold your breath for the torrent of visitors. It is somewhat disappointing, therefore, to find that days can go by without a single hit. You know that it can take a while for the search engines to identify and crawl your site, but as the days crawl by it can become very disheartening.

After a while, of course, people do start to stumble across your site, and maybe you get one or two orders. This could encourage you, and you start to wonder how many you might come to expect over the next few days or weeks. With regret you start to accept that making your first million by Christmas seems somewhat unlikely. You may start to wonder why, since at least some people have started to find you, you don’t have more people coming. But thinking about it seriously, what have you actually done yourself to ensure that your site attracts visitors? It’s all very well having a site that is so good that people want to stay and buy, but they need to know it exists first.

Perhaps you have come across websites that talk about how to make sure your website is optimized so that it is more easily found. This mainly reflects on the way in which search engines find you and list your site in their search results. Bearing in mind how many millions of searches are carried out every day on the internet, making sure that the major search engines know your site exists, and list it, will be of huge benefit. However, being listed is one thing, being high up on those lists is quite another.

The rank of your site refers to how far up the list of results your website is when someone searches the internet. If your website sells left handed calculators for example, then you will expect and hope that if someone enters the keywords ‘left handed calculator’ in a search engine that your website is near the top. If it is at the top, that is fantastic, but you really need to be in the top ten, on that first page, to be a success. Unbelievably, only 3% of people who search online ever look past the first page of results that a search engine brings up. That means that if they search for ‘left handed calculators’, which brings up almost 400,000 results in Google, you need your website to be high up the first page to stand any chance of someone finding it. Even being in 11th place out of those 400,000 will mean that you’re missing out on 97% of visitors.

You may have come across websites or companies encouraging you to let them work their magic on your site, so that you can see it float rapidly to the top of the pile, and become number one by next week. You may also have tried implementing a few tricks yourself to get your site ranked higher. I have certainly come across many hundreds of rogue companies that claim to have the single biggest secret of the internet, something which no one else can possibly know or achieve, that will have your site dancing and singing at the top of the search results in no time. Possibly with little flashy lights all round it, a couple of dancing girls and some jazzy music playing in the background. The truth is that there simply is no one single way of getting your site to the top of the list, and in fact no guarantee that it ever will. There is a whole range of tactics, some of which have more effect than others, it’s true, but all of which need to be employed to have any real chance of making a difference. It’s also important to be aware that your site will not become the number one keyword result overnight - it can take days, weeks or more likely months.

So what are these factors which affect the rank of your website? There are many different ways to win over the approval of a major search engine. The big factor used to be keywords, with search engines scanning through the pages on your site and identifying the relevant keywords. Unfortunately, many people took advantage of this and simply inserted great blocks of keywords, whether they were relevant or not, just to grab the attention of the search engines. This technique is more likely to lower your rank these days. One of the biggest factors is how many websites link to yours. Obviously if several hundred sites all have a link encouraging people to visit yours, that tells the search engines that your site must be pretty good, and so increase your rank.

I have actually come across a website which is able to analyze your website against these, and the myriad of other factors which affect the ranking of your site. I was surprised to come across it because it actually offers its service free of charge. All you do is enter your web address and contact details, and they carry out a whole range of tests to assess how well your site does for certain keyword searches, and what you could do yourself to improve it. Of course, they offer their services as far as making these improvements is concerned, but this is optional, and if you’re happy doing the work yourself, it’s a really handy service that will save you a lot of time, and a very great deal of money.

It can often be quite obscure little changes that you wouldn’t think of - such as the position of the text on the page, the number of menu links and outside links you have, the length of your sentences and so on. Knowing what you can do to help get your website noticed is a massive step toward getting up towards that golden first page. I have a number of websites, and I can’t say I have always tried every single bit of advice, but even by applying a few which suit me, I have noticed that my sites are climbing higher. Don’t forget, no one ever gets overnight top rank placement, and your eventual position will depend largely on the number of keyword competitors you have, but I’d certainly recommend getting your site checked out, after all, it’s free!

Ideas For Costumes

by Helen Evans

If you are trying to come up with costume ideas, then believe it or not, your own ideas will be your greatest input. Unless you like parting with your cash, there is no need for you to buy or rent a costume. By using your imagination, maybe some lateral thinking, you can come up with a unique costume idea. Firstly, you will need to know the theme of the party. A jazzy, glitzy costume won’t suit a formal dinner. Likewise, turning up to a hip-hop party, attired in a stiff-collared formal dress will be inappropriate.

If you are going to a custom party or ball you can let your imagination run wild and have fun with your costume idea. You can go as Pinocchio and have a cardboard pencil nose tied with a skin or white coloured elastic band. If you are a heavier built person you can pain yourself blue and go as Genie from Aladdin. However, if you are going to a ball that needs periodic style costumes you can choose your favourite person in history and dress as them.

Innovative, creative and imaginative are the key essentials to creating a fancy dress costume. Have a good look in your wardrobe for everyday clothing that you can use. A baseball themed event can have you posting a hilarious slogan on a T-shirt. You can dress up quite easy as a klutz by wearing mismatched clothes or odd socks.

Ever had a bit of fun with your children’s watercolour tubes? Dress them up in an ordinary shirt and jeans. Then draw a moustache and give them a hat and holster. Then just sit back and watch them enjoying playing cowboys. Costumes can be a powerful visual aid to raise awareness on certain issues.

Take for instance eating healthy food. Dressing up a child as a tomato or another vegetable and then explaining the benefits of eating fresh vegetables will get the message across in an entertaining way. This is often better than reading some boring old textbook.

Costume ideas can be a true representation of you and your personality. If you are a huge fan of the 1970s then make up a costume that will reflect that era of Glam Rock and Disco. If you have a wild and wacky personality then choose something that will reflect that. You can plan costumes for virtually any occasion. Make an impression and design your own unique costume rather than resorting to expensive ready made ones.

Key Things You Should Know About A Broadband Router

by Kevin Spelling

Broadband router is a computer based device which is mainly used for setting up a network. The network can be either wired or a wireless network. These broadband routers are used to ensure that all the systems in a network can transmit data with each other across the broadband Internet. As the features of broadband devices are similar, you can use them for both wired and wireless networks with its support.

A broadband router actually transfers data packets along networks. It requires at least two networks for a router to connect, commonly it connects two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its ISP’s network. As a connecter device, broadband routers are positioned at gateways, where two or more networks are connected.

After connecting the two networks with each other by using broadband routers, now the computer users can share the Internet access easily. The data will be directed along with the computer on local network through the Internet. Data can be exchanged even to computers which are kept at a distant. The added advantage of these broadband routers is to find out the virus attacks.

In simplest form, a broadband router makes two or more computer use the Internet at the same with one access pass. One more thing: a computer with cable modem could also be considered as a router. In this, the computer would do the process of routing like normal routers do. Other computers are then connected to the computer with Internet connection that would give it with the Internet connection. The computer with cable modem has the direct contact with the Internet and the ones connected to it are sharing the connection.

If broadband is classified into two types in major then the routers also has to be of two types. ADSL modem routers for ADSL broadband users and cable routers for cable broadband users are that two. Both type of broadband router perform the same function of being an interface between your network and the internet and enabling you to share your internet connection among other computers. The main dissimilarity between these two broadband routers is the way in which they connect to the internet.

Why would anyone need a router? For households with two or more computers who would want to have Internet connection to every computers they have, taking subscription for each would be too much. The solution is to buy a router that would enable every computer in the house to have an Internet connection. In the definition above, the broadband router would act as a hub to the existing Internet connection.

Easy Ways to Boost Website Traffic Now

by Paul Turner Marketing.com

Can you boost your web site traffic today? And I don’t mean necessarily by PPC (pay per click) which can be expensive. Here are some ideas and things you can do for little or no cost and get people visiting your site within a few hours.

Blogging - do you have your own blog? If you don’t then please set one up today for free at www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com and start getting links to your site. Some links will make traffic, so you have to get the word out about your blog post. What do you do is write a post with keywords related to your topic, and then use ping services to spread the word. Try using www.pingomatic.com and www.pingoat.com that will send your link to lots of blog directories and sites. Web visitors will grow the more posts you make, and how about posting on other peoples blogs so they see your URL and may visit.

Forum posting - most subjects or niches on the web now have their very own forum related to it and you can join them mostly for free. Make good posts that people are interested in amongst the popular threads and you will get people clicking on your link.

Writing articles - some of the article directories review your article before they post it to ensure quality and some don’t, and that means you can get an article with a link to your web site showing within a few hours. Other people pick up on them and use them for content on their own sites and all the time your link is in the author bio box pointing to your site.

Use Digg - place a snippet of your story or news item on Digg and they list it on their high traffic site within a few hours, often quicker - a great way to get exposure and longer term build your links and longer term traffic.

Email your list - what? You don’t have a list yet? Surprisingly lot’s of people on the web haven’t built up there own email list. If you haven’t already done so I can send you some more info. Just visit my blog. The good thing about a list is you can preset a series of messages to offer them, and you can send out an email broadcast at any time telling them to visit your site for the latest special offer or piece of advice - voila - instant boost to web traffic.

Joint Ventures - politely ask another list owner in your business if you can form a mutually beneficial partnership and let them promote to your list, or put a banner on your web site. In exchange you get to do the same, but emailing to their list is the most beneficial thing to do and this can bring you a boost to your internet traffic. Make sure you aren’t in direct competition with each other. To use a popular example, if you knew a business that sold gold clubs and you sold golf shoes then you have a product that will be of interest but not in direct competition.

Prime Targets for Identity Thieves

by Jed Jenson

Did you know that the first “baby boomer” filed for Social Security benefits in October 2007? This individual is the first of almost 80 million baby boomers who are expected to apply for such benefits over the next two decades and is, very possibly, one of the first baby boomers who may fall prey to identity theft. Because boomers are more likely to draw two incomes, i.e. retirement and social security benefits, thieves are more likely to target their financial resources than that of others. In addition to the extra income, boomers are being targeted by identity thieves because of their tendencies to avoid the internet, to rely on paper checks and paper mail, and to fall victim to pre-texting scams. Because of this, it is more important than ever for baby boomers, who, in the prime of their lives, are prime targets for identity theft, to use LifeLock’s Identity Theft Protection Services.

Perhaps one of the top reasons baby boomers are being targeted by identity thieves is because older boomers (ages 51-60) have not completely moved into the electronic age and still use pen and paper to pay bills and send correspondences. This type of practice leaves baby boomers, and their mailboxes, prime targets for identity thieves. LifeLock’s identity theft protection services seek to prevent boomers from becoming prime targets by removing members’ names from pre-approved credit card mailing lists as well as junk mail lists.

LifeLock also protects those boomers who haven’t completely moved into the electronic age by pulling annual credit reports from all three credit bureaus and mailing them to their members. Because some boomers have never “surfed” the net, much less know that they can access their credit reports online; they do not keep a close watch on their credit activity. In addition to pulling credit reports, LifeLock also places fraud alerts on member’s credit files so that lenders must call the member for verification prior to issuing credit or loans.

The third way LifeLock protects boomers from identity theft is through their eRecon and TrueAddress services. LifeLock’s eRecon service monitors criminal websites for the selling or trading of social security numbers, credit card numbers, driver’s license numbers, etc. LifeLock’s TrueAddress service detects any changes to a members’ address on various databases and notifies the member if a change is detected.

Another way LifeLock works to protect the identity of baby boomers is through their WalletLock service. Because boomers are more at risk of having their wallets lost or stolen, WalletLock is an invaluable service for boomers. Since boomers prefer to keep their personal documents close at hand, they are more likely to have multiple sources of personal identification in their wallet. LifeLock’s WalletLock service assigns a WalletLock specialist to their members if their wallet is lost or stolen. This specialist helps in contacting each credit card company, banking institution, and any state and federal agencies who issue driver’s licenses, etc. to cancel the accounts and begin the process of reinstating missing documents.

Lastly, LifeLock safeguards boomers from spending excessive amounts of time and money if their identity is stolen through a $1,000,000 full service guarantee. Although most boomers are at the point where they are receiving additional income, their income is barely enough to cover their cost of living. Through LifeLock’s $1,000,000 guarantee, if a thief discovers a weakness in their system and uses it to steal your identity, LifeLock will secure attorneys, investigators, accountants, case managers, etc. to restore your good name and, if you lose money as a result of the theft, they will reimburse you the amount of money that was stolen.

With LifeLock’s Identity Theft Protection Services, boomers no longer need to worry about the security of their identity. In fact, the only security baby boomers may need to worry about is their Social Security benefits, which come from a system that is about to be tapped into by nearly 80 million baby boomers.

How to Treat Termites

by John Daily

Termites might be secretly infesting a house without being noticed by the homeowners. Pest Management Professionals, however, are trained to determine several signs of termite infestation. These people know where to specifically look for these signs and are able to assess the severity of the infestation by means of careful observation.

Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can find termites by their droppings that they leave. However, finding termites and their nest are not necessarily equivalent. I know that I have gotten so caught up in trying to kill termites that I forget that there is a nest making termites just as fast as I can kill them. Let us be productive in our endeavors and find out where their nest is. You can do this by knowing the environment that termites like to live in and then parading your property in pursuit of discovering these nests.

Most termites live on pieces of wood or underground. However, at times, some termites can dwell on your property under your real estate. You should consult a professional immediately if you suspect this to be the case.

Subterranean termites live on top of soil, which makes this species easier to spot. These termites use mud tubes to connect their nests to their food sources. This provides an ideal transportation system - especially since they lack eyesight and have to rely on other senses. These pathways also serve as a way to protect them against natural enemies such as ants.

Some termites live in the same environment that they feed on. These termites are known as Drywood Termites because they live on dry, rotted wood which has a proper nutrient balance that is essential to their survival. You can detect signs of their nesting by observing spots, holes, cracks or leaks in any form of wood on your property including posts and tree trunks.

Overall, termites like to live in environments that provide adequate moisture and food. They also need to be protected against harsh weather climate changes. They also need to be sheltered from their enemies as well.

During winter when the temperatures drop to below zero, termite activity is greatly reduced. But if these organisms are successful in establishing colonies in places that keep warm even during winter, they can continue in their activities and create massive destruction to your property. Termites are sometimes unpredictable and adaptive to their environment and even though you are armed with the knowledge of where termites live, you may still find it difficult to actually locate them and destroy their nests.
